only thing i have left to do is make music play back at the right rate. not sure the correct way to go about that. there's probably a global tempo controller.

Programming / RenegadeEX modification
« on: April 15, 2013, 06:25:45 PM »
This is an old version of RenegadeEX (new version readme linked), but modified to:
1) Look a little nicer (System as a default font for fixed width numbers? Really? No, Courier New. Also I disabled configuration because it didn't seem to work properly in-program anyway. Oh the woes of using outdated software like it's still 2007.)
2) Be able to jump directly to specific points in hooked memory, rather than having to slowly scroll 100% of the time.

So this is basically only useful as an alternative memory searcher to Nemu's, or an alternative RAM viewer because its own is crappy since you CAN'T scroll. Unfortunately, RenegadeEX does not have a MIPS -> GS/RAM assembler, so I can't use it for my usual hacking, just RAM scumming. So it's way out of the way and not really that useful anyway. But here it is.

Source code included, it is and was GPL and stuff.

Zelda 64 / We need to make the MM DROM run at NTSC speed.
« on: April 15, 2013, 10:07:13 AM »
...Without breaking the sound. Making it run at 60FPS at least on Nemu seems trivial; just change some plaintext letter in the head of the ROM. But I think this is wrong, because it fucks up the sound (runs at a higher speed at the sample level; maybe it's actually a Nemu bug? Probably not, since the MQ DROM works fine)

Letter in question. So yeah, topic title.

General Discussion / why do "people" hate byuu
« on: February 12, 2013, 09:45:59 AM »
is it some stale internet drama people refuse to forget or something
from what I've seen byuu is a pretty cool guy and doesn't do anything remotely offensive but I've only been paying attention for a year and a half or so
it's like every single time someone mentions cycle-accuracy there's that one guy that goes "when did you turn into one of byuu's cronies?? >:(" or some shit like that

If there's any more inter-community drama on any of the boards that I moderate, I'm instantly going to delete it. No questions asked, no care who it is or why. Not even considering who's right.

Considering how I feel about deletion - Delete Fucking Nothing - it's very obvious that I'm dead serious.

Zelda 64 / Majora's Mask No Day 3
« on: June 20, 2010, 08:27:02 PM »
With many, many, many thanks to cen, I've finally made it so that if you end day 2 while playing MM, you go to day 1. I did this because the three day limit messed up hacking, and because having the object sets of multiple days (even just two) would make things more interesting.
I only have it for a decompressed debug ROM.

Assembler code as it looks in renegade:

asm:

asdf:
ADDIU V0, V0, 0xFFFE
BEQZ V0, daytwo
NOP

notdaytwo:
ADDIU V0, V0, 0x0002
ADDIU T7, V0, 0X0001
SW T7, 0X0018(V1)
J ASM
NOP

daytwo:
ADDIU V0, V0, 0x0002
ADDIU T7, V0, 0XFFFF

I copied it to ROM by hand.

I just found a usable model editor, and now I'm interested in modding again.
