Majora's Mask No Day 3
« on: June 20, 2010, 08:27:02 PM »

With many, many, many thanks to cen, I've finally made it so that if you end day 2 while playing MM, you go to day 1. I did this because the three day limit messed up hacking, and because having the object sets of multiple days (even just two) would make things more interesting.
I only have it for a decompressed debug ROM.

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVqINaaNMfU

Assembler code as it looks in renegade:

8016DA98
J asdf
NOP
asm:

800A219C
asdf:
ADDIU V0, V0, 0xFFFE
BEQZ V0, daytwo
NOP

notdaytwo:
ADDIU V0, V0, 0x0002
ADDIU T7, V0, 0X0001
SW T7, 0X0018(V1)
J ASM
NOP

daytwo:
ADDIU V0, V0, 0x0002
ADDIU T7, V0, 0XFFFF
SW T7, 0X0018(V1)
J ASM
NOP

I copied it to ROM by hand.

so, for example, if I open a chest on day 2, and after day 2 ends i go to day 1, is the chest still opened? or is closed?

and if i play song of time, all (container hearts, chest, boses etc...) reset or are still beat/opened?

It should stay the way it was.

Awesome! This could lead to some great things. Following what NOKAUBURE said, is there any possibility of modifying NPC behaviour such as changing the times they do things? Or maybe a case of removing actors i.e the Goron so theres less inconsistencies? I think I confused myself, lol.

If it's been programmed, it's possible to change. That's all there is to it. Why would removing the goron get rid of inconsistencies?
